Dokwayne during the introduction of Mr. Chinkee Tan
In 2010, I and my marketing students (8 of them) attended the first conference of advertising and marketing students of the Philippines. Unforgettable speakers were Gilbert Remulla, Alfred Vargas, and Chinkee Tan. It was the first time I heard Chinkee Tan’s talk. I was amazed and amused. I recalled he was featured at Korina Sanchez’s Rated K, a top rating TV magazine every Sunday. Finally, I heard him talk. This year’s conference of advertising and marketing students of the Philippines encompassed the business administration students. I was informed two days before the conference that I’d be part of the program by introducing a speaker. I was excited and a bit nervous.
Then the day came. My excitement doubled when I saw my name on the program and the name of the speaker I would introduce. To my surprise, Chinkee Tan was the speaker. I really admire this speaker, I bought a book of him in 2010. Before the introduction, I had a chance to pose with him for a picture. His talk was entitled: Chink Positive. The participants were awed when he started speaking. The talk seemed so brief. Anyway, I have his book. I’ll read it over and over again!
