‘Have a Little Faith’

It’s semester break. It’s a temporary leeway from the hectic academic schedule. For many students, it’s a time to relax, a time for vacation, staycation (vacation at home). For me, it’s a break innuendo. I got more work to do. I have to finish my almost runaway research. I have to post blogs on my dokwayne.com and take care as well of my other sites. No matter how occupied I am, I can’t let the second semester to embark without a pocket book in my pocket or on my palms.

I’m back on reading fictional and non-fictional books. I had just begun to read Mitch Albom’s Have a Little Faith. I thought it’s one of his imaginations. I’m wrong. This one is based on a true story. It’s obvious. You can see that on your first glance. And I think it’ll be as sensational as Tuesdays with Morrie — the bestselling memoir of all time. One book will be enough for the semestral break.

I remember I posted a poem entitled Enigma. It was about that little yet powerful thing — faith. There are those who only believe in things they see. For them, what are believable are those that can be sensed by our senses. Beyond that no longer. If our faith is delimited by our senses, we fail to discern those invisible things, conceptual like virtue, love, trust, loyalty, and faith itself. There can be no faith at all without faith. Because it doesn’t resemble any physical characteristic and it’s beyond sensing. Faith is more than to see is to believe. It is more to believe then you’ll see. Have a little faith!
