God is bigger than his powers

God is omnipotent, omnificent and omniscient – words that aptly describe Him and only Him. The exclusivity of these terms divulges God’s incomparable position to any breathing and breathless things in the universe. His power to create is manifested in his grandeur and colossal handiworks. His knowledge and wisdom are beyond measurement discernible by mankind.

One that is more interesting and mind-boggling is God’s ability to foreknow. He can reveal and direct his servants to write down history in advance. Foreknowledge baffles mankind—both intellects and commoners. What really stirs curiosity is if God is responsible for the predicaments of humanity from time untraceable to the present and even into the future. Logic could give an oversimplified answer in a snapshot. Foreknowledge presupposes predestination. The difficulty of many as well as the extravagance of elite few, the tyrant and slaves, the culprits and victims, the rich and the poor, the strong and the weak have been long known and weaved by the omniscient. God has set all the affairs of every living thing. But what appears to be superficial and banal might demand in-depth contemplation.

When free will is suppressed, man has no power over his destiny. This proposition is completely paradoxical. It would be an all-out disharmony of God’s prevailing image and cardinal qualities. Creations steadfastly prove these attributes. What they speak so loud that we humans couldn’t hear. Of all God’s designs, there can be no better personification of his image than humans do.

What qualities that God have to make good use of his powers? I’ll discuss that on my next post.
